School lunches

As a kindergartner, Will picks hot lunch a few times a week.  One of our morning rituals is to check out the menu online (technology!) and he carefully considers the options before deciding on which entree or a cold lunch made by Dad.  Will puts a lot of thought into his lunch decisions.  Earlier in the Fall, he had already figured out his likes (nachos - "it's chips and then they put a lot of cheese on it!" and breakfast for lunch) and his dislikes ('that stuff with rice').   The menu is basically the same core items but they change up the side dishes.  Since we are now almost in the fourth month of school (!), Will's pretty familiar with all of the choices.  That's why he surprised me this morning by wanting to have hamburgers from today's menu.  During the other weeks, he's turned up his cute little nose to burgers.  When I picked him up from school today, I asked him how he liked the hamburger.  He told me that it was really good, and it even had meat in it!  I'm so glad.
