I want tractor!

The kids and I spent the weekend in Brighton so that Glenn could go scout for his antelope hunt without being consumed by the guilt that comes with leaving your doting wife at home with a 2 1/2 yr old and a 6-month old. Everybody had a great time! It was one of the hottest weekends of the summer but we did our best to stay cool. Will loves Grandma and Pop-pops house and Reina loves not having to sit, lay or sleep by herself all weekend.

On Saturday morning we got to ride horses and drive tractors. We practically had to peel Will off of the tractor when it was time to leave. Here he is waiting rather patiently for the tractor action to start. Will abandoned the tractor for about 45 seconds so he could go on a horseback ride with his Pop-pop. My dad still looks like a cowboy huh? Back to the tractor! Here's Will and his new BFF Donna who patiently let him drive the tractor while she spread manure. On Saturday afternoon, we ventured out to the zoo. It was actually not a bad place to be on a 96 degree day. Will was pretty impressed with the elephants and giraffes. He said "hi" to the monkeys several times and seemed a little confused when they didn't say "hi" back. Here's reason #9,549 why Reina is going to hate me when she's older. "Mom - that picture makes my legs look huge!" Sorry about the pose Reina-girl. You just look so cute all melted into the stroller. Look at this face! Don't you just want to cover her in butter and jelly and eat her up like a little biscuit? Is it just me?

Will's constant why-ing continues. On Sunday we are getting in the car for church and Will starts up with the why's.

Will: We are going?

Grandma H: We are going to church.

Will: Why?

Lucy: Go ahead mom, I'd like to hear your theological response.

Grandma H: (after a long pause) Because that's what we do on Sunday mornings.
